Winter Miller

We thank Winter Miller for the contribution of her captivating play, UNTITLED DARFUR PLAY, performed at various Darfur/Darfur events.

Ms. Miller was awarded The Guthrie Theater and Playwrights’ Center’s Two-Headed Challenge 2006 for her play, UNTITLED DARFUR PLAY, about genocide in Darfur. She was also a 2003 O’Neill Finalist. A graduate of Smith College, she holds an MFA from Columbia University and is a founding member of the Obie-winning 13Playwrights (13P). Ms. Miller has written for the New York Times.

Winter Miller’s plays include: UNTITLED DARFUR PLAY (commissioned by the Guthrie, Geva Hibernatus Oct., 2006, the Public Theater’s New Works Now, Nov., 2006; THE PENETRATION PLAY (produced by 13P); CAKE AND ICE CREAM; GREETINGS FROM VIETNAM, WISH YOU WERE HERE; and a series of short plays, among which DARFUR, SUDAN and PARTYLINES (Ignite Festival, Synapse Company, Oct., 2006). She is developing the musical SOMETHING’S WRONG WITH AMANDINE (Theatreworks, 2006). Her work has been developed and/or produced by: The Public Theater, The Guthrie, Playwrights Center, Geva, 13Playwrights, Theatreworks, The New Group, Rattlestick, Synapse, New Georges, The Hourglass Group, Dixon Place, HERE and DR2. THE PENETRATION PLAY is published by Playscripts, Inc.. Excerpts are also published in Smith & Kraus’ Best Stage Scenes 2005, and Smith & Kraus’ Best Monologues 2005.
